One Pan to Ooey, Gooey Delights

For the past 10 years, my mother has been the unofficial baked goods supplier to my niece’s various sporting teams.  Cookies, brownies, or whatever Grandma can masterfully whip together, is always devoured in a single sitting.  Grandma always has ingredients on hand for Lissa’s favorite baked good.  A season does not pass where the girl does not call Grandma and sweetfully swindle a pan of ooey, gooey delight bars.  These one pan wonders are sinfully delicious and simplistic in making – the ultimate baking combination in my book.  Make these your standby treat, you can thank me later!

Davy Crockett Bars
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
2 cups quick oats
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup vegetable or canola oil
3 eggs

Preheat oven to 350.  Dump and mix the ingredients with a spatula in a 9×13 pan.  Seriously, just dump and mix.  No nonstick spray needed!  Bake for 25-30 minutes.

When the day comes when our children are old enough for this Grandma perk, I will gladly stand in line for a piece or two of the sweet gooey goodness.
